Professor Thaler is a senior neurologist and director of the Center for Research and Treatment of Genetic Parkinson's at the Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center – TASMC (Ichilov Hospital). Professor Thaler completed his medical studies at Tel Aviv University and then pursued a research doctorate (PhD) in neurology. He subsequently specialized in the neurology department at TASMC. Upon completing his fellowship, he joined the Movement Disorders Unit at the neurological institute at TASMC as a senior neurologist and researcher at the LEMON – LABORATORY FOR EARLY MARKERS OF NEURODEGENERATION research laboratory.
Since then, Professor Thaler has been combining research and clinical practice in various movement disorder areas. Among the topics Professor Thaler treats are Parkinson's disease, Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), essential tremor, dystonia, torticollis, headache, tremor, gait disorders, balance, and more. Professor Thaler has published over 70 articles in professional journals, actively participates in professional conferences in Israel and abroad, and is a member of the Israeli Neurological Association, the Israeli Society for Movement Disorders, and the Movement Disorder Society.
